Hayward, CA (September 5, 2024) – A hit-and-run involving a big rig occurred Thursday morning on I-880 near Hacienda Ave, resulting in injuries. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene at 5:39 a.m. to find lanes 3 and 4 blocked due to a disabled vehicle.

CHP officers managed to move the big rig to the A St off-ramp, reopening all lanes. A tow truck was requested to assist with the heavy-duty vehicle, which weighed approximately 20,000 lbs. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
