Hassan Valley Twp, MN (November 29, 2024) – An injury accident occurred on Thursday, November 28, at approximately 8:41 PM at the intersection of Highway 22 and 140th St in McLeod County. The crash involved two vehicles: a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox traveling southbound on Highway 22 and a 2009 Chevrolet Impala heading northbound. The two vehicles collided in the area, causing a significant impact.
Emergency responders from the McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Allina Medical, and Glencoe Fire arrived promptly at the scene. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Naomi Joy Laidlaw, a 47-year-old woman from St. Paul, was driving the Chevrolet Equinox and was taken to Glencoe ER for treatment. Abigail Marie Shrode, an 18-year-old woman from Sauk Rapids, was driving the Chevrolet Impala and was transported to Hutchinson ER for medical care. The 3-year-old passenger in the Impala was also unharmed and was taken to Hutch ER as a precaution.
The road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, which allowed for a quick emergency response. Both vehicles had deployed airbags, and all individuals involved were wearing seat belts. There were no indications that alcohol played a role in the incident.
