Hartford, CT (December 22, 2024) – A large fire broke out early Sunday morning in a five-story apartment building located at 873 West Blvd, prompting evacuations and a swift response from emergency services.
The Hartford Fire Department (HFD) reported the fire originated in apartment 310. Residents were evacuated due to smoke filling the building, with a CT Transit bus on site to provide temporary shelter. Firefighters rescued one individual from the building and transferred them to EMS for immediate medical evaluation at the building’s main entrance. The victim’s condition has not been disclosed.
Crews worked quickly to contain the fire and ensure the safety of all residents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and further details have not yet been released.
