Harris County, TX (November 20, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run crash claimed the life of a man and left a woman seriously injured early Wednesday morning near the Georgetown Colony neighborhood. The incident occurred just before 2:00 a.m. on Addicks Satsuma Rd, north of Langham Creek, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).

Deputies reported that the man and woman were walking along the road when they were struck by an SUV. The driver fled the scene without stopping to provide aid. The male victim was later found in a nearby ditch and pronounced dead, while the woman was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.

Through the use of a camera system, investigators with the HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division were able to identify a suspect vehicle, a Kia Sorento, and its license plate. Deputies located the vehicle and arrested 39-year-old Yusdenis Llano, who now faces charges of failure to stop and render aid involving death. Officials confirmed that Llano did not appear to be intoxicated at the time of his arrest.

The investigation is ongoing. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time, and we hope for the woman’s recovery.

Hit-and-Run Accidents in Texas

Hit-and-run accidents, like the one on Addicks Satsuma Rd, are devastating incidents that leave victims and their families facing physical, emotional, and financial challenges. Fleeing the scene not only worsens the situation but also violates Texas law, which mandates that drivers involved in crashes must stop, provide aid, and exchange information.

Victims of hit-and-run accidents or their families may pursue legal claims for compensation, which can cover medical expenses, funeral costs, and other damages. Identifying and apprehending the responsible party, as in this case, is essential for ensuring accountability and justice.

To prevent such tragedies, drivers are urged to remain attentive and cautious, especially when traveling at night or in poorly lit areas. Pedestrians are encouraged to use sidewalks and crosswalks whenever possible and wear reflective clothing to enhance visibility.

If you or a loved one has been impacted by a hit-and-run incident, resources are available to help you navigate the recovery process and understand your legal options. Seeking guidance is a critical step toward achieving justice and resolution.
