Harborcreek Twp, PA (January 13, 2025) – A tragic accident occurred Friday evening when a vehicle collided with a pickup truck on Depot Rd near Harbor Ridge Trail. The collision claimed the life of an 87-year-old woman, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident was reported around 6:40 p.m. A 2017 Hyundai Accent, traveling north on Depot Rd, lost traction on the snow-covered roadway and collided head-on with a southbound 2011 Ford F-250. Emergency responders from Harborcreek Township were quick to the scene, providing care to the individuals involved.
The passenger in the Hyundai, an 87-year-old Harborcreek Township woman, was transported to UPMC Hamot, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities have withheld her identity pending confirmation from the Erie County Coroner’s Office. The driver of the Hyundai, a 66-year-old woman also from Harborcreek Township, sustained injuries of an unknown severity and was taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment. The driver of the Ford, a 59-year-old North East man, reportedly suffered minor injuries but declined hospital transportation.
