Hanover Borough, PA (January 18, 2025) – A tragic workplace accident at Hillandale Farms has claimed the life of a mechanic. The incident occurred on Thursday, involving 61-year-old Fernando Estrada-Moreno, who was severely injured while on duty.
According to the York County Coroner, Estrada-Moreno was impacted and entrapped by an automatic feed trough while working at the farm. Emergency responders arrived promptly, finding him unresponsive. Life-saving measures were initiated at the scene, and he was transported to Wellspan York Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care.
The Pennsylvania State Police in York, along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
