Hampton, VA (February 22, 2025) – A woman was killed early Saturday morning in a wrong-way DUI crash on I-64 East, west of Settlers Landing Rd. The driver responsible for the collision is now facing manslaughter charges, according to Virginia State Police.
The fatal accident occurred at approximately 1:21 a.m. when 52-year-old Theresa Michelle Tann was driving westbound on I-64 but entered the eastbound lanes. She then crashed head-on into a 2016 Nissan Maxima driven by 35-year-old Latonya Alisha Foster.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported Foster to Hampton Sentara Hospital Careplex, where she succumbed to life-threatening injuries. Tann was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities confirmed that Tann was under the influence at the time of the crash. She now faces charges of driving under the influence (DUI) and manslaughter. Additional charges may be filed pending further investigation.
The investigation into the deadly collision remains ongoing.
