Hammond, IN (November 9, 2024) – A crash involving a Hammond police squad car and another vehicle occurred Friday evening at the intersection of 169th and Southeastern Ave. The collision reported around 7:45 PM, resulted in injuries to a police officer and two female passengers in the other vehicle.
According to authorities, the squad car was traveling westbound on 169th when a southbound vehicle on Southeastern Ave ran a red light, causing the crash. Emergency responders transported the two injured passengers to Community Hospital in Munster. Their conditions have not been disclosed. The officer involved also sustained injuries, but details regarding their status remain unclear.
