Halstad Township, MN (January 26, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision occurred early Saturday morning on US Highway 75 at 270th Ave in Halstad Township, Norman County. The crash claimed the life of a 68-year-old man and involved a semi-truck and a Ford Taurus.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 12:20 AM when a 2003 Ford Taurus, traveling northbound on US Highway 75, collided with a 2016 International PROSTAR semi traveling southbound. The collision occurred in the southbound lanes of the highway.
The driver of the Ford Taurus, identified as Raymundo B. Zenteno, 68, of Climax, MN, tragically sustained fatal injuries and was transported to Sanford Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. It is unclear at this time whether he was wearing a seat belt. Alcohol involvement remains unknown.
The semi-truck driver, Luis Enrique Pardo, 26, from Mexico, was uninjured. Authorities confirmed that he was wearing a seat belt, and there was no indication of alcohol involvement on his part.
Emergency responders from the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, Essentia EMS, Ada Police Department, and Halstad Fire and Rescue were at the scene to assist. The accident led to a temporary closure of the highway as officials conducted their investigation and cleared the wreckage.
