Hagerstown, MD (November 21, 2024) – A house fire on Spruce St Wednesday night left three people, including two children, injured and requiring medical attention. The fire was first reported at 9:35 p.m., with multiple emergency units responding to the scene.
Upon arrival, Battalion Chief 3 confirmed smoke visible from the alpha side of the residence. Fire crews quickly entered the home and discovered a fire originating in the kitchen on the first floor. During their search and rescue efforts, they successfully located and brought a trapped individual out to safety. The person rescued, along with two children, was evaluated by EMS personnel on-site before being transported to Meritus Medical Center for further treatment.
The fire was contained and extinguished promptly, with the safety assignment initiated to ensure no further risk to the property or nearby structures. The identities and conditions of the injured individuals have not been disclosed at this time.
