Guthrie, OK (November 16, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning when a Stillwater woman lost her life in a fiery crash on Interstate 35 near the State Highway 33 bridge. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place at approximately 2:50 a.m.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Kerrie Jones, was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of I-35 when her vehicle veered off the road. The car reportedly drove between a concrete barrier at the SH-33 bridge, went airborne, and crashed back onto the highway before catching fire. Emergency crews responded quickly, but Jones succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities have not determined if she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
