Groton, CT (September 13, 2024) – A student sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a school bus accident on New London Rd on Friday, September 13. The bus, carrying 34 children, rear-ended a Volvo around 9 a.m. before veering off the road. Striking a utility pole, and hitting a large boulder.

The injured student was treated at the scene, and no other injuries were reported. The bus was en route to a Magnet School in Mystic.

Authorities cited the bus driver for failure to maintain a proper distance. Further details will be provided as the investigation into the incident continues.
