Greenville, OH (November 4, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle accident occurred on November 2 at approximately 9:40 a.m. on Weavers Station Road, just south of U.S. Route 36 West. Darke County Deputies, along with the Liberty Township Fire Department, Tri-Village Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue, and CareFlight, responded to the scene of the crash.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2024 GMC truck, driven by 45-year-old Gabriel Tamplin of Greenville, was traveling southbound on Weavers Station Road when he crossed the centerline. This maneuver resulted in a head-on collision with a northbound 2013 Chevy Equinox, driven by 75-year-old Sherry Lawrence, also from Greenville.
Sherry Lawrence was transported by CareFlight to Kettering Health for medical treatment; however, her current condition remains unknown. Gabriel Tamplin was treated at the scene and subsequently released. Following the incident, Tamplin was issued a citation for traveling left of center.
