Grayson County, TX – Three Children Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on US 69 near Penny Rd

Grayson County, TX (September 1, 2024) – Three children tragically lost their lives in a three-vehicle collision on Friday evening, August 30. The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on US 69 near Penny Rd. Hyrum Grandy, 40, of Lone Oak, veered onto the shoulder to avoid a slowing vehicle.

When Grandy returned to the lane, his Hyundai Elantra collided with a Ford F150 driven by Angel Martinez, 34, of Celeste. A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Lane Recer, 29, of Trenton, then struck Grandy’s vehicle. The three children in Grandy’s Elantra, aged 10, 13, and 14, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the crash continues.
