Graves County, KY (January 30, 2025) – Four individuals were hospitalized following a vehicle crash on Spalding Rd between Mayfield and Fancy Farm on Tuesday afternoon.
The Graves County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident at approximately 3:19 PM. According to investigators, 18-year-old Juelle Crockett of Mayfield was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound when she lost control, veered off the left side of the road, and struck an embankment. The force of the impact caused the vehicle to roll onto its passenger side before coming to a stop on all four tires, facing eastbound.
Emergency responders, including Mayfield/Graves County EMS, arrived at the scene to assist the injured. Crockett and her three passengers—15-year-old Simon Crockett, 6-year-old Shelby Crockett, and 11-year-old Keigan Ellegood, all of Mayfield—were transported to Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital for treatment. Fortunately, all individuals sustained only minor injuries and were later released.
Authorities reported that Shelby Crockett was ejected from the vehicle through the rear window but miraculously escaped with minor injuries. Following the incident, Juelle Crockett was cited for a booster seat violation and failure to wear a seat belt.
Officials continue to remind drivers to prioritize seat belt use and child safety restraints to reduce the risk of injury in accidents.
Our thoughts are with those involved, and we are relieved to hear of their recovery.
