School Bus Safety in Massachusetts
School buses are among the safest modes of transportation for students, but accidents involving them can have significant consequences. Roads like Upton St (Route 140), with mixed traffic patterns, pose risks for larger vehicles like buses, especially during early morning commutes.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), most school bus-related crashes involve other vehicles rather than passengers on the bus. Common factors contributing to such accidents include distracted driving, failure to yield, and roadway conditions.
In incidents like this, thorough investigations are crucial to determine the cause and to ensure accountability. Families and those affected should remain informed about their rights and seek appropriate support during recovery.
