Glencoe Township, MN (September 20, 2024) – A collision involving two straight trucks occurred Thursday morning on U.S. Highway 212 at the intersection with Imperial Avenue in McLeod County. The incident took place when both vehicles were traveling eastbound on the highway.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 2016 Ford straight truck and a 1999 Volvo straight truck collided near Imperial Avenue. Fortunately, the road conditions were dry at the time of the accident, which may have contributed to the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Emergency responders from McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Glencoe Fire Department, Allina Ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) were dispatched to the scene.
The driver of the 1999 Volvo straight truck, identified as 33-year-old Phillip Reynolds Hinseth from Sartell, MN, did not sustain any injuries and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. His passenger, 57-year-old Darwin Lynn Stenberg from Hill City, MN, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Glencoe Hospital for treatment. It was reported that Stenberg was not wearing a seatbelt during the incident.
The driver of the 2016 Ford straight truck, 51-year-old King MacDonald Onwuemeodo from Ramsey, MN, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at Glencoe Hospital. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
