Pedestrian Accidents in Virginia
Pedestrian-involved accidents, like the one on E. Stuart Drive, often occur on high-traffic roadways where multiple lanes increase the risk of collisions. Visibility issues, vehicle speed, and failure to yield are common factors in such incidents.
Virginia law requires drivers to exercise caution around pedestrians, but crossing major highways can be particularly dangerous due to the difficulty of judging vehicle speeds and stopping distances. Even at moderate speeds, pedestrian crashes can result in severe injuries, requiring extended medical treatment and rehabilitation.
