Gainesville, FL (September 2, 2024) – A juvenile male has died, and three others are critically injured following a wrong-way collision on NE 39th Ave near Gainesville Regional Airport on Sunday, September 1. Gainesville Police reported the crash occurred when a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on State Rd 222 struck another car.

Emergency responders, including Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies and fire rescue crews, were on the scene. The injured individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries.
