Fremont, CA (March 9, 2025) – An injury accident involving multiple vehicles occurred on Interstate 880 Southbound near the Decoto Rd off-ramp on Sunday afternoon, leading to temporary lane closures and emergency response efforts.
The crash was reported at approximately 1:50 p.m., with multiple vehicles, including a light green Subaru, a black Lexus SUV, and a white Ford pickup, involved in the collision. Initial reports indicated that at least one vehicle was facing the wrong direction in lane two, while others were blocking lanes one and two.
Emergency responders, including Fremont Fire and Rescue, were dispatched to the scene. Fire crews and paramedics arrived shortly after and were seen assessing and treating injured individuals. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers also managed traffic, temporarily blocking the affected lanes to allow for emergency response.
As of 2:24 p.m., officials confirmed that all vehicles were moved to the right-hand shoulder, and all lanes were reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by CHP.
