Franklin Township, MN (December 14, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision occurred Thursday morning at the intersection of Hwy 12 and CR 14 in Franklin Township, Wright County. The crash involved a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer and a 2020 Ford Transit van.

According to authorities, the Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 62-year-old Susan Reed of Buffalo, MN, was traveling southbound on CR 14 when it attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Hwy 12. The Ford Transit van, driven by 32-year-old Terrance Alonzo Anthony of Montrose, MN, was traveling westbound on Hwy 12 when the collision occurred at the intersection.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, and airbags were deployed in both vehicles. Reed, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) for treatment. Anthony, also wearing a seatbelt, was unharmed and did not require medical attention.

The road conditions were dry at the time of the incident, and there were no indications of alcohol involvement. Wright County law enforcement responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the individuals involved, and we wish Reed a swift and full recovery.

Vehicle Collisions in Minnesota

Minnesota’s busy roadways, such as the intersection of Hwy 12 and CR 14, often see vehicle collisions, particularly when vehicles are making turns. In this case, the collision serves as a reminder of the importance of caution when turning at busy intersections and the need to ensure all drivers are aware of approaching vehicles.

Drivers are encouraged to maintain awareness, follow traffic laws, and always wear their seatbelts. Defensive driving is essential for avoiding accidents, especially at intersections where turning movements occur.

If you are involved in a vehicle collision, it is important to contact emergency services, document the scene, and seek medical attention if necessary. Legal or insurance professionals can assist with claims and ensure that all necessary actions are taken to properly resolve them.
