Franklin Parish, LA (September 5, 2024) – A fatal head-on collision on La Hwy 130 near Turner Neal Rd left 20-year-old Ethan Cottingham dead. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, when a dump truck driven by 69-year-old James Fowler veered into the eastbound lane, striking Cottingham’s Ford F-150 head-on.

Cottingham, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene. Fowler, who was properly restrained, was uninjured.

Routine toxicology tests were conducted, although impairment is not suspected. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash. They will provide updates as more information becomes available.
