Franklin, MO (September 23, 2024) – A serious traffic accident occurred on Missouri 100 at Route T at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Sunday. The incident involved two vehicles, resulting in multiple injuries and significant damage.
According to the investigation conducted by TPR. E.G. Talleur, the accident involved a 2014 GMC Terrain, driven by 49-year-old Wayne F. Vessell from Villa Ridge, MO, and a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, operated by 82-year-old Connie B. Roden from Pacific, MO. The GMC Terrain was traveling westbound on Missouri 100 when the Chevrolet Traverse, which was traveling northbound on Route V, attempted to cross Missouri 100 to Route T. Unfortunately, the driver of the Traverse failed to yield the right of way to the GMC, leading to a collision.
The impact resulted in both vehicles being totaled, and they were subsequently towed by Patriot Towing. Emergency responders from the Meramec Ambulance District arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance.
Wayne Vessell sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment. Angela M. Buck, a 50-year-old female occupant in the GMC Terrain, suffered serious injuries and was also taken to the same hospital. In the Chevrolet Traverse, 68-year-old Betty K. Roden, an occupant, sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. Connie B. Roden, the driver, suffered minor injuries and was likewise taken to the hospital for evaluation.
