Franklin County, MO (February 17, 2025) – A collision on an icy roadway in Franklin County sent three people to the hospital Sunday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 8:55 a.m. on Robertsville Road near Fish Trap Road.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2018 Nissan Murano, driven by a 48-year-old woman from Pacific, MO, began to skid on the icy, hilly roadway. A 2017 Ram 2500, driven by a 62-year-old man from Robertsville, also lost traction while attempting to slow down. The Ram’s front right side struck the left front and side of the Murano, pushing the vehicle off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch.

Emergency responders from Meramec EMS transported the Nissan driver and two passengers—a 55-year-old man from Pacific and a 101-year-old man from Union—to Mercy Hospital Washington with injuries. The driver of the Ram was not injured and was able to drive away from the scene, while the heavily damaged Nissan was towed by Patriot Towing.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash, with icy road conditions cited as a key factor in the incident.

Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a full recovery.

Winter Roadway Accidents in Missouri

Winter weather conditions, such as those on Robertsville Road, pose significant hazards for Missouri drivers. Ice and snow can reduce traction, making it difficult to stop or maneuver safely, particularly on hilly or curvy roads. Even cautious drivers may struggle to control their vehicles on slick pavement, increasing the risk of collisions.

Missouri law requires drivers to adjust their speed and driving behavior in hazardous conditions. While no-fault insurance ensures some level of medical coverage for those injured, victims of accidents caused by dangerous road conditions may need to explore additional legal options for compensation, especially if injuries require ongoing medical care or rehabilitation.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a crash caused by winter road conditions, seeking legal guidance can help you navigate insurance claims and secure the resources needed for recovery.
