Franklin County, MO (February 13, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on eastbound Missouri 100 left one driver injured late Wednesday morning. The accident occurred just east of Daisy Lane at approximately 11:00 a.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 22-year-old man from Washington, MO, was driving a 2021 Dodge Ram when he struck the rear of a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The Chevrolet, driven by a 67-year-old man from Labadie, MO, sustained extensive damage and remained roadside per the owner’s request.

Emergency responders from the Meramec Ambulance District arrived at the scene to assist the injured driver of the Chevrolet, who suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for further medical treatment. The driver of the Dodge Ram was not reported injured and was able to drive away from the scene.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish him a full recovery.

Rear-End Collisions in Missouri

Rear-end collisions, like the recent crash on Missouri 100, are among the most frequent types of roadway accidents. These incidents often result from following too closely, driver inattention, or sudden traffic slowdowns. While many rear-end crashes cause minor vehicle damage, they can still lead to serious injuries, particularly for older adults or those in smaller vehicles.

Missouri law requires drivers to maintain a safe following distance to prevent collisions. In many cases, rear-end crashes can be avoided by staying alert, reducing distractions, and allowing adequate stopping space. Even at lower speeds, the force of impact can cause whiplash, back injuries, or other trauma that may require medical attention.

For accident victims, the aftermath can be overwhelming, with medical bills, lost wages, and vehicle repair costs adding to the stress. Seeking professional assistance can help injured individuals understand their legal rights and explore options for compensation.
