Fort White, FL (February 28, 2025) – A 63-year-old woman from Lake City lost her life in a crash involving a semi-truck in Columbia County early Thursday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving eastbound on County Road 238 (Elim Church Road) around 6 a.m. when she entered the intersection of State Road 47. At that moment, a southbound semi-truck collided with her vehicle, causing both the car and the truck to overturn upon impact.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman had succumbed to her injuries. The truck driver was not harmed in the crash. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the accident to determine any contributing factors.
