Fort Wayne, IN (December 5, 2024) – A 46-year-old Fort Wayne man, identified as David Cullen Jr., tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of E. State Boulevard and Crescent Avenue.
According to the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD), Cullen, who was in a wheelchair, was on the roadway when he was hit by the vehicle. A TRAA ambulance, already approaching the intersection, was quickly on the scene and provided immediate medical assistance. Despite their efforts, Cullen was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force injuries. His death has been ruled an accident.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation. Police do not believe that speed was a contributing factor to the incident.
