Fort Smith, AR (October 14, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on October 11, 2024, at approximately 5:04 p.m. at 4400 Kelley Highway, resulting in a fatality. Emergency responders were alerted to the scene following the incident, which involved a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a 2016 RAM 2500 was traveling northbound on North 44th Street and came to a stop at the intersection with Kelley Highway. At that time, a minor pedestrian was walking westbound on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, as the driver began to make a right turn, he did not see the pedestrian in front of his vehicle and proceeded with the turn, striking the pedestrian. The individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
