Fort Myers, FL (January 17, 2025) – A man in his mid-20s suffered critical injuries in a serious crash at the north entrance of the Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club, located at the intersection of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and Lake Maggiore Way. The incident occurred late Thursday night at approximately 10:40 p.m.

According to reports, the man lost control of his vehicle and collided with the entrance sign to the Miromar Lakes Beach & Golf Club. Emergency crews, including San Carlos Park Fire and Lee County EMS, responded swiftly to the scene. Deputies found the victim unconscious and not breathing upon arrival, initiating chest compressions immediately.

Paramedics declared the victim a “Trauma Alert” on-site before he went into traumatic cardiac arrest. He was resuscitated during transport to Gulf Coast Medical Center, where his condition remains unknown. The severity of the injuries prompted authorities to classify the crash as a traffic homicide investigation due to the potential for a fatal outcome.

The north entrance of Miromar Lakes, which was initially closed following the crash, has since reopened. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident to determine the cause and contributing factors.

Our thoughts go to the victims as we hope for their recovery.
