Fort Myers, FL – One Killed in Golf Cart and Propane Tanker Collision on Winkler Rd

Fort Myers, FL (September 9, 2024) – A 44-year-old Fort Myers man died after his golf cart collided with a propane tanker on Sunday, September 8. The incident occurred on Winkler Rd near Clipper Ln.

According to authorities, the golf cart veered off the road, overcorrected, and entered the northbound lane, directly into the path of the propane tanker. The tanker, driven by a 43-year-old Cape Coral man, crashed head-on with the golf cart, killing its driver.

A 30-year-old passenger in the golf cart and the propane tanker driver sustained minor injuries.

Neither occupant of the golf cart was wearing seatbelts. Authorities are investigating the crash and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
