Fort Myers, FL (December 06, 2024) – A house fire broke out at 2666 Blake St early Friday morning, injuring one person. Emergency responders, including Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS, were quick to the scene at 2:20 AM after receiving reports of a fire. Upon arrival, heavy smoke and flames were seen emanating from the left side of the house. Firefighters worked swiftly to contain the blaze, while Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD) officers assisted with evacuating the home and ensuring the safety of the residents and pets. Three dogs were also safely rescued from the property.
One individual sustained burn injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital. Their condition remains unknown at this time. During the firefighting efforts, a resident entered the property while the flames were still being extinguished and was briefly detained by authorities. She was released shortly afterward, and no criminal charges have been filed. The house, unfortunately, suffered significant fire damage and is currently uninhabitable.
