Fort Myers, FL (October 16, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday evening involving a bicyclist and two motorcycles on Three Oaks Parkway, resulting in the death of a 64-year-old man. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the crash took place at approximately 7:55 p.m., near the intersection of Three Oaks Parkway and north of Corkscrew Road.
According to the FHP, the two motorcyclists were traveling north on Three Oaks Parkway when the bicyclist, who was coming from the east shoulder, attempted to cross into the center median. Unfortunately, he entered the path of the two motorcycles, leading to a collision in the northbound travel lane.
Both motorcyclists sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment. However, the bicyclist suffered critical injuries and was also transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
