Forsyth, MO (January 18, 2025) – A fatal hit-and-run accident claimed the life of a pedestrian Friday evening on US 160 in Forsyth. Emergency responders and local authorities were called to the scene to investigate the tragic incident.
The crash occurred at approximately 7:59 PM when an unidentified vehicle struck a 64-year-old male pedestrian from Forsyth, MO. The vehicle fled the scene after the collision, leaving the victim fatally injured on the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at 8:00 PM by Taney County Coroner Tony Mullen. His body was transported to Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home in Forsyth.
The driver of the vehicle involved remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation to identify the individual responsible—the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D, along with Crash Team CPL. T.R. Wright is leading the investigation.
This marks the second fatality recorded by Troop D in 2025. Officials are urging anyone with information about the incident or the fleeing vehicle to come forward and assist with the investigation.
