Florence Twp, MI (March 5, 2025) – A 21-year-old man from Howe, Indiana, was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon after failing to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Stears Rd and Lutz Rd.
According to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred just before 4 p.m. when the victim, driving a 2012 Honda Civic eastbound on Stears Rd, ran a stop sign and collided with a northbound 2020 Ford F-150. The impact of the crash was severe, and the driver of the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
The 22-year-old driver of the Ford F-150 was not injured. Officials are continuing to investigate the incident to determine all contributing factors.
