Florence County, SC (January 22, 2025) – A tragic three-vehicle crash on Highway 52 near McLaughlin Rd claimed the life of one individual and left another injured on Tuesday evening. The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) responded to the scene at approximately 5:40 p.m. to assist and investigate.
According to SCHP Master Trooper Brandon Bolt, the collision occurred when a 2000 Hyundai sedan attempted to turn north onto Highway 52 from McLaughlin Rd. The Hyundai was struck by two southbound vehicles: a 2012 Chrysler sedan and a 2015 GMC pickup truck. The driver of the Hyundai tragically lost their life in the crash.
The driver of the Chrysler sedan sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital by EMS for treatment. The driver of the GMC pickup truck was not injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine what factors may have contributed to the tragic outcome.
