Finlayson, MN (October 1, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred on September 29, 2024, at approximately 1:44 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 18 and School Street, resulting in injuries. The incident involved two vehicles and prompted a response from emergency services in the area.
According to preliminary reports, a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 when a 2003 Ford F250, which was traveling westbound, made a left turn near School Street. The Ford F250 collided with the front end of the Honda Civic, leading to a significant impact. The driver of the Honda Civic, 37-year-old Jack Isaac Koski from Finlayson, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia for medical evaluation. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, which likely contributed to his safety during the collision.
In addition to the driver, there were three passengers in the Honda Civic, all of whom also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The passengers included a 5-year-old boy, a 2-year-old girl, and a 9-year-old girl, all of whom were properly secured with seatbelts and were taken to Essentia for medical care.
The driver of the Ford F250, a 16-year-old male from Finlayson, did not sustain any injuries and was also wearing his seatbelt during the incident. Fortunately, there were no fatalities reported as a result of this accident.
