Fargo, ND (December 23, 2024) – A 36-year-old woman tragically died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. The North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) has reported that the incident occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of 38th St and 53rd Ave S.
According to NDHP, the woman was hit by a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Alex Cruz of Fargo. Cruz allegedly fled the scene immediately following the collision, traveling on 52nd Avenue S. Emergency responders transported the victim to Essentia Health in Fargo, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Law enforcement officials apprehended Cruz, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the fatal hit-and-run.
