Falcon, CO (October 16, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday, October 13, resulting in one fatality and one serious injury on Highway 24, northeast of Falcon. The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported that the crash took place around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 24 and Curtis Road.
According to investigators, a Ford truck traveling westbound crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Chevrolet truck heading eastbound. Both vehicles had only one occupant. The driver of the Ford, a 34-year-old man from Colorado Springs, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity will be released by the county coroner at a later date. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 25-year-old man from Calhan, was airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries. As of now, there are no updates regarding his condition.
