Fairview Twp, PA (January 12, 2025) – Emergency responders were dispatched to Fir Rd in Fairview Twp on Saturday evening following an ATV accident that left a male rider with a serious head injury. The incident was reported at approximately 8:32 p.m. and required a multi-agency response.
The injured individual sustained bleeding from the ear and a swollen eye, and the ATV was reported to still be in the middle of the road upon the arrival of emergency crews. Personnel from Stations 56 and 28 arrived promptly to assess the situation, and efforts to secure an air medical transport began shortly after.
Initially, LifeFlight was unable to respond due to weather conditions, but Stat 16 was later cleared for flight. Karns City High School was initially designated as the landing zone (LZ), but adjustments were made to Catalpa Rd at Serafine Ln. Emergency teams worked diligently to prepare the LZ and transport the injured individual to the designated location.
At 10:03 p.m., Stat 16 was airborne, transporting the patient to a trauma center in Pittsburgh for further treatment. The condition of the injured male remains unknown at this time as investigations continue.
