Fairfield, AL (March 10, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 59 early Saturday morning resulted in the death of a Birmingham woman and left two others injured.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:50 a.m. after reports of a severe collision involving multiple vehicles. According to Alabama State Troopers, 23-year-old Juanita L. Salery was driving a Honda Accord when she collided head-on with a Hyundai Tucson operated by 27-year-old Daimone R. Hayman of Bessemer.
Following the initial crash, Salery’s vehicle then struck a Jeep Compass driven by Kamry Crusoe, 23, of McCalla, before colliding with a Kia Forte driven by 26-year-old Dymond J. Watts of Birmingham. A Ford Mustang, driven by 53-year-old Matthew Elmore of Louisiana, also sustained damage after hitting debris from the wreck.
Authorities confirmed that Salery was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. She was rushed to UAB Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Both Hayman and Crusoe sustained injuries and were also transported to UAB Hospital for medical treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by Alabama State Troopers. No further details have been released at this time.
