Evansville, IN (February 17, 2025) – A man was hospitalized with a broken bone after a head-on crash caused by an alleged drunk driver early Sunday morning on South Green River Rd at the Lloyd Expressway.
According to the Evansville Police Department, 42-year-old Issac Solano was behind the wheel when he struck another vehicle head-on. The victim sustained a broken wrist and reported shoulder pain before being transported to the hospital for treatment.
Officers arriving at the scene noted that Solano appeared highly intoxicated, struggling to unlock his car door and pressing the wrong window button multiple times. Reports indicate that he had slurred speech and difficulty maintaining his balance. When questioned about the odor of alcohol, Solano allegedly admitted to being under the influence.
A witness at the scene stated that Solano had told her he was intoxicated before police arrived. Authorities also reported that on the way to the hospital, Solano repeatedly fell asleep and had to be woken up multiple times.
