Evansville, IN (December 27, 2024) – An incident involving a green Chevy truck resulted in an accident with injuries on the 4900 block of Stringtown Rd early Friday morning. According to reports, the truck was seen traveling northbound on First Ave from Diamond, swerving erratically and jumping a curb. Further investigation revealed the vehicle had expired plates linked to a different vehicle.
Shortly after, additional calls reported the same vehicle going off the road and getting stuck in the mud in the 4900 block of Stringtown Rd. The crash caused damage to utility lines. The driver, who was reportedly revving the engine in an attempt to free the vehicle, was taken into custody by the Evansville Police Department (EPD) at the scene. Emergency responders confirmed injuries, though the extent remains unknown at this time.
Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted due to the crash and the subsequent cleanup of utility line damage. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
