Espanola, WA (January 9, 2025) – A serious crash involving a semi-truck and a car occurred Wednesday morning on Espanola Road, leaving two individuals in critical condition and one teen injured.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident happened when a car traveling southbound on Espanola Road failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a westbound semi-truck that had the right of way. The impact caused the car to become lodged under the semi-truck, which came to a stop approximately 1,000 feet from the intersection.
The car had three occupants at the time of the crash. One teen managed to escape with broken bones and was promptly treated for their injuries. The adult driver and another teen were trapped inside the car and required extraction by emergency crews. Both remain in critical condition and have been transported to the hospital. Family members of those involved have been notified.
