Escambia County, FL (March 6, 2025) – A 42-year-old man from Flomaton, Alabama, lost his life Wednesday night after being struck by a tractor-trailer while walking along Highway 98, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred at approximately 9:04 p.m. near Skyhawk Drive. FHP reports indicate that the pedestrian was in the middle of the roadway when the driver of the tractor-trailer, a 57-year-old from Palm Coast, Florida, failed to see him. The front of the truck collided with the pedestrian from behind.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but the pedestrian did not survive his injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured in the crash.
Authorities have not released further details, and the incident remains under investigation.
