Elmira, NY (October 17, 2024) – A two-car collision occurred on Wednesday evening at the intersection of Clemens Center Parkway and Water Street in Downtown Elmira. The accident took place around 6:45 p.m. and involved a maroon Ford sedan and a white Chevrolet Traverse.
According to an officer from the Elmira Police Department, the Ford was traveling north on the parkway when the Chevrolet attempted to make a left turn towards East Water Street, entering the path of the Ford. Both vehicles reportedly had a green light at the time of the incident.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash. The Ford sedan sustained significant damage, particularly to its front left side, where the headlight was destroyed, the front bumper became detached on one side, and the metal above the front passenger side wheel well was peeled back. The Chevrolet SUV also suffered damage, with a large dent noted on its back passenger side door.
Traffic was able to flow through the intersection while the Elmira Police Department worked to clear the scene and assess the situation.
