Ellsinore, MO (February 4, 2025) – A serious crash on U.S. 60 west of Ellsinore left a 21-year-old woman injured Monday evening after her vehicle collided with a towed unit.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2020 Ford Fusion, driven by a 21-year-old woman from Poplar Bluff, struck a towed unit being pulled by a 2009 Dodge pickup. The driver of the Dodge, a 19-year-old man from Ellsinore, was uninjured and was able to drive away from the scene.
The impact caused total damage to the Ford Fusion, which had to be towed. The female driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau for emergency treatment. Reports indicate she was not wearing a safety device at the time of the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
