Ellsinore, MO (February 18, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 60 and Highway V in Ellsinore left three people injured Monday afternoon. The accident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m., prompting a response from emergency crews and law enforcement.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by a 30-year-old woman from Springfield, MO, failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A westbound 2021 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by a 25-year-old woman from Ellsinore, MO, then collided with the Dodge.

The impact left both vehicles with total damage, and they were towed from the scene by Fann’s Towing and Brook’s Towing. Emergency responders transported all three individuals involved to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 30-year-old driver of the Dodge Grand Caravan suffered moderate injuries, while the 25-year-old driver of the Chevrolet Blazer and her 4-year-old male passenger sustained minor injuries. Authorities confirmed that all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident. Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a full recovery.

Intersection Crashes in Missouri

Intersections are among the most common locations for vehicle crashes, particularly when drivers fail to yield to oncoming traffic. Accidents at intersections like US 60 and Highway V in Ellsinore often result in severe collisions due to the high speeds at which vehicles may be traveling.

Failure to yield is a leading cause of intersection-related accidents. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, remain attentive at crossings, and always check for oncoming traffic before proceeding. Defensive driving and adherence to right-of-way laws can help prevent dangerous crashes.

For those involved in a crash, seeking medical attention is essential—even for minor injuries, which can worsen over time. Understanding one’s legal rights and available resources can also be crucial in handling recovery, medical expenses, and vehicle damage.
