Elizabeth, WV (December 6, 2024) – A devastating fire in Wirt County claimed the lives of three people, including two young children, and left one individual injured on Wednesday morning. The fire broke out around 9:30 AM at a home on Whited Road in Elizabeth, prompting a swift response from local fire crews.
Upon arriving at the scene, responders discovered that a 25-year-old man and two young boys, ages 3 and 2, had tragically lost their lives in the blaze. Additionally, a 22-year-old woman was injured and rushed to a hospital in Cleveland for treatment. The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed, but fire officials confirmed that she was the only survivor of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office. Authorities are working diligently to determine what sparked the deadly blaze.
