Statewide, pedestrian fatalities make up a significant portion of traffic-related deaths, with seniors being especially vulnerable. Road design, lighting conditions, and driver awareness all play critical roles in preventing such accidents.
In recent years, state and local governments have implemented initiatives aimed at reducing pedestrian-related incidents. Efforts include improved crosswalk visibility, better lighting in high-traffic areas, and educational campaigns targeting both drivers and pedestrians.
