Single-Vehicle Accidents in South Carolina
Single-vehicle crashes, such as the one on McCord’s Ferry Rd, often result in severe injuries or fatalities due to the forces involved when vehicles leave the roadway and strike fixed objects like trees or poles. Factors contributing to such incidents can include distracted driving, speeding, or road conditions.
In 2023, the South Carolina Department of Public Safety reported numerous fatalities and injuries from single-vehicle accidents statewide. Roads in rural areas, like McCord’s Ferry Rd, can present additional challenges due to curves, narrow lanes, and lack of lighting.
Drivers are reminded to remain vigilant and drive cautiously, especially on less-traveled roads. Maintaining safe speeds and staying focused on the roadway are crucial steps to preventing these types of accidents.
